Obituary of Sharon Joyce Roberts
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. You have freed me from my chains." -Psalm 116:15, 16b
Sharon Joyce Roberts, 64, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, peacefully, joyfully, and angelically, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Dean and Joyce Roberts, precious sister to Gary Roberts, cherished aunt to Alyssa Roberts, Sandra Dull and Christin Spute, and the “apple of the eyes” of grandparents Edwin and Mona Walter and Alice and Clinton Roberts, all of Pittsburgh PA. Sharon graduated from Penn Hills High School and worked in a variety of sales occupations. Sharon will be eternally remembered by all who knew her as a person that loved God with all her heart, was a passionate lover of animals, especially her many adored Chinese Crested dogs. Sharon had a magnetic, warm personality that encouraged and energized her many life-long friends with her empathy, emotional and spiritual intelligence, and active listening skills. Sharon’s final years were difficult physically given her end stage multiple sclerosis, but her indominable faith in God was an inspiration to family and care givers alike as she endured pain and sickness with unswerving cheer, gratitude, trust and faith in God. Sharon is a true “hero” of the Christian faith. One of her favorite quotes that she lived fully is “there is nothing stronger than God and love.” She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk Virginia but is now resting in the arms of Christ. Well done good and faithful servant Sharon! Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at https://vbspca.com/.
