Bonnie Louise Meredith, My dearest friend in all the world. I love you, and I will miss you. Thank you for loving me as a sister, family, and friend. My parents loved you so much, my brothers, my sister. We first met when I was about 18. We worked at a record store together. Here we are 54 years later, and the love is stronger than ever. James Cecil "Sugar", has now lost his wife, as I too have lost my husband. We have been friends for all these years. Never a crossword, and always such a positive person.
Bonnie, regardless of friendships and relationships absolutely loved the Lord, our God almighty. There was never a doubt about who she belonged to, and who came first in her life. Bonnie adored her precious children, and she shared an undeniable love for her husband, "Sugar". We sewed together, hung wallpaper, and painted together. We even learned to do some light gardening. Bonnie was one of my bridesmaids in 1977. She became Aunt Bonnie in 1979 and 1982 to Reggie and Christina. She celebrated the bridal shower and the marriage of my daughter. She was there for me and my family when our parents passed in 2007 and 2008. In 2013, they came up to Washington DC to celebrate my husband's 70th Birthday. In 2014, she was right here for me when my husband passed. Bonnie and Sugar would come over to my parent's house and eat fresh fried fish and steamed crabs. In DC, there was a restaurant located in the heart of Chinatown, that Bonnie and I would frequent often. Ruby's, had the best Subgum Wonton dish. It is hard to share all of these amazing memories when there was not just a Bonnie. It was a Bonnie and "Sugar" always. I will always remember your voice, your amazing smile, and most of all your love. Until we see each other again, Love Mildred 2023
